Dad Ditches Little Girl with Goodbye Note
Officers investigated a report of a child that had seemingly been abandoned by her father just after 5:30 pm. Family members asked them to check on the welfare of the dad, who had left a letter with his elementary school-aged daughter saying that he was leaving and she should take the school bus to a family member’s home.

A deputy spoke to the family members and child and then headed back to the man’s residence to see if he was inside. They put an ambulance on standby and checked for the man inside, but found the house empty.
The family members said they would look after the child for now and contact CPS if the father did not return home.
