CPS workers had a difficult time investigating a report of child abuse in West Portsmouth.
They asked officers to meet up with them and accompany them to a home to check on three children after their father refused to allow them in the house.
Deputies met up with the CPS workers and headed to the home. However, they couldn’t get it. After CPS workers left to meet the deputies, someone closed and padlocked the gate to the home.
Officers said it didn’t appear anyone was home. They told CPS workers to contact them if anyone returned to the home.
