Portsmouth Police nabbed a wanted parole violator after a bizarre call about a man rolling around on the ground near 14th Street and Robinson Avenue just before 9 PM.
When officers arrived, they discovered the suspect was none other than Mackenzie Litteral, a parolee labeled “dangerous and possibly armed” by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
FROM ROBBERY TO PAROLE VIOLATION
Litteral was convicted of second-degree robbery in 2020 and sentenced to 4 ½ years in prison. He was released on parole in 2023 with orders to report to the Columbus Parole Office—but it seems he had other plans.
CHARGED & BACK BEHIND BARS
Instead of lying low, Litteral ended up rolling around in the street, drawing the attention of police. Officers took him into custody and confirmed he had an open warrant for parole violation. They slapped him with additional charges for disorderly conduct and booked him into the Scioto County Jail.
MORAL OF THE STORY?
If you’re a wanted fugitive, maybe DON’T roll around on the ground in public!
