Daniel Bentley, 68, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away April 25, 2021, at SOMC in Portsmouth. He was born in Load, Kentucky, on Sept. 7, 1952, a son of the late Ermon Herbert Bentley and Ines Morris Bentley. He was a member of the Portsmouth Eagles. Daniel loved watching squirrels and the Cardinals.
Preceded in death by three sisters, Fronia Mae Brown, Geneva Cate, Rose Lee Bush, three brothers, John Marvin Bentley, Willie Lee Bentley, and Paul Bentley, six infant brothers and sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Renee Traylor of Flatwoods, Kentucky, three brothers, Moses Bentley of Portsmouth, Oh, James Roy (Linda) Bentley of Greenup, KY, Vonnie Eugene Bentley of Alexandria, KY, three sisters, Bernice (James) Cornett of Saint Anne, Ill, Renda Ann Lykins of Flatwoods, KY and Glenda Kay Curry also of Flatwoods, KY, sister in law, Linda Sue Bentley of Tipp City, Ohio and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Chuck Holsinger, officiating. Friends may call from 11 till the service hour at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Private burial will be held at a later date at the Bentley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital.
Due to Covid restrictions face coverings and social distancing are required.
