Darlene Walters Wright, 74, of Sullivan, MO., formerly of Quincy, KY., went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 22, 2024, at her residence with her family by her side. She was born in Quincy, KY., on May 19, 1950, a daughter of the late Harry and Wanda Christy Walters.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Harrietta Lucas, and a lifelong friend who she thought of like a sister Penny Ruggles.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years whom she married in 1970, George Wayne Wright; one daughter, April (Bill) Knapp of Pacific, MO; four grandchildren, Rachelle (Kyle Bristow) Brumfield, Ethan Knapp, Rylee Knapp and Mac Knapp; one great-grandchild, Lorelei Bristow; two sisters, Brenda (Glen) Lawhun and Patty (Dennis) Parson; one brother, David (Jennifer) Walters; one brother-in-law, Andy Lucas and several beloved nieces and nephews who will sadly miss her.
Darlene was cherished by countless family members and friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity. Known for always being there when someone needed an extra helping hand or a kind word, she made a lasting impact on those around her. Her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Joe Madden officiating. A burial will follow at Crystal Dawn Cemetery in Quincy, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, December 27, 2024, at the funeral home starting at 6 P.M. and one hour before the service on Saturday.
