A Wheelersburg daycare employee accused of child endangerment has now appeared in court, as an ongoing investigation continues to draw concern from multiple parents.
Kylie Weeks was arraigned Monday, Dec. 22, in Portsmouth Municipal Court on a charge of child endangerment stemming from allegations involving her conduct while working at Giggles and Wiggles.
Weeks had already been released from the Scioto County Jail shortly after her arrest late Friday night, a common practice in some cases pending court proceedings. During Monday’s arraignment, the court formally set her bond at $2,500. Records indicate Weeks posted the bond in cash.
She is scheduled to return to Portsmouth Municipal Court for a pretrial hearing on Jan. 27.
The charge follows explosive allegations from one mother who claims her child was physically assaulted at the daycare, allegedly captured on video, resulting in visible facial injuries. A second mother later came forward publicly, saying her 13-month-old son experienced sudden and alarming behavioral changes while under Weeks’ care—changes she now believes may indicate her child was also harmed.
Authorities have not released details about the investigation, including whether additional charges are being considered or how many complaints may be under review. Officials have also not publicly commented on the existence or scope of any video evidence.
As previously reported, the case has prompted emotional responses from parents and renewed scrutiny of daycare oversight and incident reporting practices.
