A local daycare employee has been arrested on a child endangerment charge after a Wheelersburg mother came forward with disturbing allegations that her young child was assaulted while in care.
Kylie Weeks was booked into the Scioto County Jail late Friday evening on a charge of child endangerment. Jail records indicate she was released shortly afterward, a routine outcome in many cases once a court date is issued. As of Saturday morning, no court date was yet visible on the docket, likely due to the timing of the late-Friday arrest.
The case gained widespread attention Saturday after the child’s mother posted an emotional statement on social media accusing Weeks of abusing her child at the Giggle and Wiggles daycare in Wheelersburg. In the post, the mother alleged the incident was captured on video and said her child suffered visible injuries, including a black eye and a busted lip.
“She slammed my child down on a cot three times,” the mother wrote, adding that she was told the injuries were the result of a fall. “It’s all on video,” she claimed, though she said she would not share the footage publicly because it was too upsetting to watch.
The mother also shared video of herself confronting daycare staff, including Weeks, inside the facility. In that footage, the mother can be seen angrily pointing at Weeks and accusing her of throwing the child to the ground. Another woman attempts to intervene, urging the mother to consider the other children present and to step outside. During the confrontation, Weeks can be heard saying, “I didn’t mean to.”
The mother acknowledged in her post that her reaction was intense, saying she was in “fight mode” to protect her child and apologized for causing a scene in front of other children.
In addition to the confrontation video, the mother shared photos showing the child’s facial injuries.
Authorities have not yet released details about the investigation or confirmed the existence or contents of any video evidence. The allegations remain under investigation.
