Deanna Gail Lewis, 68, of Minford, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 at SOMC surrounded by loved ones. Deanna was born October 8, 1956 in Portsmouth, Ohio and was a graduate of Minford High School, class of 1975. She professed her faith in Jesus. She could always be found at her granddaughter’s school events, with a cold Pepsi Max in her hand. She enjoyed caring for her hummingbirds in the spring and any stray that showed up on her doorstep. She adorned her family in homemade quilts and always cooked big dinners during the holidays. She valued time with those she loved above anything else. She was a former employee of SOMC dietary. She was a fighter, and was stronger than you’d ever imagine. If you knew her, know that she loved you.
She was a daughter of the late Homer and Betty Kelley. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Jack A. Lewis who passed away in 2020; brothers, Ed Matthews, Scott Kelley; a sister, Connie Cooper, and a step grandson, Brian Anthony Hammond.
She is survived by one son, Randall (Randy) Lee Allen, Jr. and his fiance, Julia Nevins, and the pride and joy of her whole life, her granddaughter, Lillian Allen. She is also survived by her step children, Tony Lewis, Rick Lewis, and Teresa Gail (Jon) Roberts; step grandchildren, Catherine Hammond, Nikita Roberts, Jacob Lewis, and Shaina Ceasar; six siblings, her sisters, Vicky (Rodney) Hamilton who was her caretaker, Crystal (John) Plush, Sue Shaffer, and brothers, Wayne (Kayla) Kelley, Rick Kelley, and Herbie Kelley. Also surviving are many nephews and nieces, one being Angel Wickersham. Deanna and Angel frequently took vacations and played bingo together. She also has many family members and friends that loved her dearly.
There will be a celebration of live for Deanna on Saturday, February 1 at the Clay Township Building at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Bentley officiating. Arrangements are being conducted by Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Online condolences may be send to www.edafh.com.
