Debbie Rase, beloved wife, mother, Mamaw, and dedicated cosmetologist, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11th surrounded by her loved ones. Her presence was a light in the lives of all who knew her, and her absence leaves an ache that words can hardly ease.
Born on August 30th, 1952 in Portsmouth, Ohio Debbie had a gift for making others feel seen, heard, and beautiful — not just through her skilled hands as a cosmetologist, but through her kindness, humor, and unwavering love. Her career was more than a profession; it was a calling that allowed her to touch lives in intimate and lasting ways, leading to many referring to her as their “Mamaw Debbie”.
She was the cherished wife of Michael Paul (Mike) Rase for 53 years, a devoted mother to Ryan and Lindsay, and the most loving Mamaw to Mikaylah (Alex) Moore, Connor and Carson Mullins and Ethan Rase. Family was her everything, and she made each moment count — from family dinners to holidays filled with laughter and warmth.
Her legacy is one of compassion, strength, and grace. She taught us to find beauty in the everyday, to care deeply, and to always show up for the ones we love. Her love was a constant, her presence a blessing, and her memory a treasure we will carry forever.
She is survived by her husband – Mike Rase whom she married September 22nd, 1973, son – Ryan (Lisa) Rase, daughter – Lindsay (Jason) Mullins and grandchildren – Connor Mullins, Carson Mullins, Ethan Rase and Alex Moore, brother – Danny (Rhonda) Chamberlin, many special nieces and nephews as well as brothers – and sisters-in-law who adored her and Special Friends CeCe Frazie and “the girls” at Revive Salon. She was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter Mikaylah Belford Moore, her parents – Oliver and Lima Chamberlin, brothers – Blaine, Pat, Don, Jeff and Mike Chamberlin and sister – Judy Turner.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home and services will be conducted by Pastors Roger Lavender and Brent Saxton. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and a funeral service to celebrate her life will take place Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Mikaylah Moore Scholarship Fund through the Scioto Foundation per Mamaw Debbie’s request.
