Already Facing Serious Charges, Man Arrested in Domestic Chaos That Didn’t Stop There

He was already in legal trouble — and then the domestic calls started coming in.

According to a report from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence after a third-party caller reported an active domestic violence incident involving a man who was already facing multiple criminal charges.

Deputies say Jacob Lindsay, who was previously charged in December with three counts involving prohibited animals, was accused of assaulting his wife during an argument inside the home. Court records show prosecutors had requested an arrest warrant in that earlier case due to the severity of the allegations and the condition of the animals, and Lindsay was scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial hearing on February 2.

When deputies arrived for the domestic call, they were met by Lindsay’s sister, who said the argument had turned physical and forced Lindsay’s wife to flee the home on foot. She reported that after the wife left, Lindsay turned his anger toward her, making threats that left her fearing for her safety.

Moments later, Lindsay reportedly left the residence in a van to search for his wife. As deputies arrived, the van pulled in behind their patrol vehicles. Lindsay was immediately taken into custody and arrested on domestic violence charges.

Deputies also spoke with Lindsay’s wife, who told them the argument had been verbal and involved yelling. The sister, however, stated she wished to pursue charges based on the violence and threats she reported.

Lindsay was transported to the Lawrence County Jail. Deputies advised his wife to avoid further contact with the sister to prevent additional issues. She remained on the property, staying in a camper.

But the situation didn’t cool down.

The very next day, deputies were called back to the same location after reports that tensions had reignited. This time, the sister reported she was being harassed and pressured to drop the domestic violence charges.

She told deputies she had received messages and said Lindsay’s wife had entered her home twice, waking her up and urging her to drop the charges. She said she felt intimidated and wanted to pursue additional charges.

While deputies were still on scene taking a written statement, they were alerted that the wife was walking back toward the residence. A deputy made contact with her along the roadway. She told deputies she was only trying to explain how charges could be dropped and denied arguing.

Deputies explained that due to the domestic violence arrest, contact between the parties was not permitted. After the sister completed her statement, Amanda Lindsay was taken into custody and arrested for intimidation of a witness or victim.
