A West Portsmouth man setting up his deer stand got more than he bargained for when he spotted someone wandering through the woods in nothing but underwear.
The resident told deputies the man looked confused and didn’t respond when he yelled at him. Concerned, he called authorities.
Deputies launched a search near Whiley Road and even called in the local fire department with an ATV to cover more ground. Porter Township EMS deployed a drone to scan the area from above.

Despite nearly two hours of searching, officers, firefighters, and medics found no trace of the man—just plenty of deer in the woods.
The unusual sighting remains a mystery.
