Delores Fern Gilpin, 75, of Sciotoville went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 26, 2021, at the home of her daughter Jeanie. She was born December 9, 1945, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Garrett and Edna Eileen (Perkins) King. Delores was a former cook at Concord Nursing Home. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, spending time with her grandchildren, and really loved spending Christmas with her family.
Delores is survived by a son, George (Angela) McCain of Wheelersburg; daughters, Cheryl (Ronald) Sims of Wheelersburg, Diane (Jaime) Vendera of Franklin Furnace and Jeanie (James) Picklesimer of Lucasville; brothers, Dale King of Huntington, WV, Dennis King of Lucasville, Roy (Bev) King, Tom King both of Portsmouth and Dickie Kennison who was raised as a brother; sisters, Vickie (Don) Toms of Lucasville and Joy (Larry) Hemby of Florida; 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a very special friend, Donna Arthur.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Gilpin; brothers, Gary, Garrett Jr, Jim, Bruce, Mark, Charley, and John Stiltner.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville with Pastor Brian Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 Noon to 1 PM at the funeral home.
