Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies went hunting for shoplifters after employees at the Wheelersburg Kroger said a couple left the store without paying for merchandise. They said he was driving a white Ford with a handicap plate and gave officers the tag number.
Deputies headed to the house that matched the license tag, but a woman said they weren’t there. Officers provided the names of the suspects to the store so they could serve them with trespass notices. Employees said they would call deputies if the couple returned.
Employees at Lowe’s called deputies to report that a man who is frequently seen with a guy who shoplifted from the store was inside. They wanted police to identify him and trespass him from the business.
However, the man helped himself to some merchandise and took off on foot before officers arrived.
