1. Desperate Hunt To Save Missing Woman
Deputies launched a desperate search to locate a missing woman after a caller told them the woman had made multiple threats to harm herself the night before. They headed to a home in McDermott and went inside with the worried caller. They were unable to locate the missing woman.
Just before 6 am, officers checked a local funeral home after witnesses said the woman might have gone there. Police spoke with the owner, who said he had not seen her.
Officers patrolled the area of the McDermott home to look for the woman throughout the morning and headed back to speak to the neighbors just after 10 am.
Just after 11 am, the woman’s relatives called and said they found her hiding underneath the stairs of her home. Dispatch sent an ambulance to the scene and medics took the woman to the hospital for treatment.
2. Trailer Bursts into Flames on Tram Road
Just after 12:30, deputies and firefighters responded to a report an elderly woman’s trailer home was on fire on Tram Road.
Adams County lent a hand by dispatching Manchester firefighters and dispatch contacted AEP to shut off the electricity.
Firefighters deemed the home a total loss but the Red Cross did respond to aid the resident.
