Dewayne Alan Moore of Ashland, Kentucky, was born on December 10th, 1971, to his mother, Kathy Lake, and father, Alan Moore. Tragically, Dewayne passed away unexpectedly on March 9th, 2025, at the age of 53, following a medical incident.
Dewayne was the oldest of six children and took on a role of responsibility, helping to raise his siblings. At the age of 16, he faced the devastating loss of his mother in a vehicle accident, which led to his home being separated. Dewayne moved to live with his father in Vanceburg, Kentucky, where he finished high school at Lewis County Schools. Dewayne then enlisted in the United States Navy in 1989, where his service took him to Maine, Saudi Arabia, and Italy.
After serving four years in the Navy, Dewayne returned home and spent some time in Florida, where he honed his skills in dart tournaments, proudly under the name “DMO”. A few years later, he decided to settle back in Flatwoods, Kentucky, with his grandmother, Thelma McDowell, and continued to pursue his passion for darts. Dewayne and his dart team were even featured on the cover of the National Dart Association magazine, and he amassed numerous trophies for his outstanding achievements in the sport. In 2001, while working in Portsmouth, Ohio, Dewayne met Crystal. Despite Crystal being separated and having two children, their connection grew stronger, and in 2002, they welcomed their first son, Sebastien.
Dewayne became a devoted father, not just to Sebastien, but also to his step-daughters, Madison and Tabitha. He treated them as his own, always putting his children’s needs before his own. Dewayne was the epitome of a hard-working, selfless father.
After making things official with Crystal on June 21st, 2001, Dewayne and Crystal got married on June 21st, 2021. The love they had for each other was like nothing else. They were the true definition of soulmates.
The day following Dewayne’s passing, Crystal suffered a severe spike in her blood pressure, leading to a heart attack. As a result, she underwent a procedure to have two stents implanted.
Unfortunately, Dewayne did not have life insurance, and the Moore family is now facing financial burdens related to his passing.
