The Area Office on Aging asked deputies to check in on a client they hadn’t heard from in a few days. They said the woman was staying in a camper without water or electric on Highland Drive.
When officers went to check it out, they found a dog at the camper, but neighbors said they hadn’t seen the woman in several days. The officer called the Dog Warden, who suggested that they call the Humane Society.
The owner of the property the camper was parked on said he’d look after the dog until a humane agent arrived.
Officers learned the woman might be in the hospital, but also learned there was an order of detention for her, so it was possible she was in court.
The report did not indicate what agency took possession of the dog, and no follow-up visits had been made by law enforcement at the time of this reporting.
