Officers responded to a Lett Terrace Apartment after witnesses reported animals in possible danger. The caller said multiple dogs had been left locked in a truck for sixteen hours.
When officers arrived on the scene, they located the truck and then found the owner. Deputies informed the owner that they could not leave the dogs in the truck all day. Officers said the owner agreed to take the animals into the apartment.
A Dehner Street resident called officers at 1 pm to report a dog kept in a yard that had no food or water and was suffering from open sores. When officers spoke to neighbors, they said the owner had been in rehab for a week.
Officers contacted the Scioto County Dog Warden.



Dogs Rescued from Condemned House
An animal control officer rescued two dogs from a condemned house on Mabert Road just before 10 am.
City Code Enforcement called the police after suspecting someone was inside the home in the 1900 block of Mabert Road. When officers arrived, they didn’t find any people inside. However, there were two dogs.
Animal control took possession of the animals.
