Donald E. Raynard, age 69 of Sciotoville went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 15, 1951, in Portsmouth to Donald and Ruth (Smith) Raynard. He was raised by his grandparents Lawrence and Charlotte Raynard. Don graduated from Portsmouth East High School in 1970 and was married on March 11, 1970, in Vanceburg, KY to Lolita ‘Dee Dee” Slack. He worked 40 years as a union electrician, first with Aristech Chemical, then retired from Braskem Chemical in Kenova WV. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 3-721. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cutting the grass.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dee Dee; one son Matt (Tammi) Raynard of South Webster; two daughters, Angie Raynard of Peebles, Stephanie Raynard and fiance’ T.J. Lang of Wheelersburg; one sister, Judy Cooper of Wheelersburg; one brother, Mike Raynard of Wheelersburg; Mother-in-law, Sara Slack of Wheelersburg; five grandchildren, Riley and Makayla Raynard, Brody and Bristol Hale, Ryker Lang; Special granddaughter, Skylar Zimmerman; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME – (WOLFE-NELSON CHAPEL) in Sciotoville with Pastor Chris Oiler officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.
A visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
