Woman Passes Out, Crashes Into Store
A motorist drove her vehicle straight into the Salvation Army Family Store on 11th Street just after 11 am. Officers said an elderly woman likely had a medical issue while attempting to park.
She ended up hitting two columns on the Family Dollar building and crashing into the Salvation Army. Police said they would follow up with the driver after she was discharged from the hospital.
Butting Heads at the Speedway
Police were called to the Speedway on Gallia for a report of a man hitting his head on the wall and acting crazy.
He then sat down on the urinal.
Bad Bills at the Dairy Queen
A man contacted police just before 1 m to complain that the Dairy Queen gave him a fake $50 bill in his change. He said they were refusing to make the issue right.
Police confirmed the bill was indeed counterfeit and the store owner agreed to review security footage to see if the man was handed a $50 bill in change.
Bike Thief Busts Into Home
An 8th Street caller contacted police at 1 pm to report that a man busted in his back door and stole his electric bike.
Police took information for a report.
Unwanted Guests
A Mabert Road homeowner asked police to stand by while he inspected his property. He said there should be no one living in the residence, but there were several people there.
Officers advised them to leave and the owner agreed not to press charges as long as they left.
Child Flees from Social Worker
A social worker contacted police at 4:30 pm to report that a girl had jumped out of her vehicle at Arby’s and ran off.
The social worker provided the girl’s sister’s address and the police took information for a report.
Suspicious Activity
A High Street caller reported an unknown man beating on their door at 5 pm. Officers detained the man for a probation violation and transported him to the Scioto County Jail.
Angry Woman Loses Wallet
An angry woman contacted the police at 5 pm to report her wallet missing. She said that she’d left Community Action with her wallet and gone to Staker’s Drugs
Now, her wallet and money were missing from her purse. The officer said the woman was argumentative and did not want to give the necessary information to file a police report.
