Overdose Reported on 20th Street
Just after 6:30 pm, witnesses contacted 911 to report an overdose in the bathroom of a 20th Street home. They said the victim was not breathing. Portsmouth Fire Department medics transported the victim to the hospital.
Just after 7 pm, officers were called to 7th Street for a report of a woman passed out in a vehicle parked in front of a residence. Officers detained a man at the scene and took information for a report.
At 7:40 pm, a caller reported a woman passed out in a vehicle at the Family Dollar on 11th Street. When officers arrived on the scene, they arranged for the woman to get a ride home.
At 9:20 pm, a 6th Street Caller reported an overdose. When officers arrived on the scene, the caller said the woman who overdosed had been Narcaned by another resident and fled the scene.
Just after 11 pm, police responded to an overdose at Alexandria house. A witness said they had administered Narcan, but the victim was not waking up. Medics and police responded to the scene, but the man was awake by then and refused help.
Needles, Drug Paraphernalia, Left Lying Around Town
Officers responded to reports of needles and other drug-related items lying around town.
Just before 8 am, police answered a call from CSC Cleaning Supplies on Gallia that the company had discovered drug-related items on the property. An officer impounded a syringe and disposed of it in a sharps container.
Police responded to a Court Street counseling center after an employee reported finding drugs. An officer impounded the items.
Man Reported With Open Container & Gun at Sober House
Security at a local sober house contacted officers at 8 pm to report a man walking around the property with an open container in his hand and a gun at his side.
He said the man’s girlfriend was staying at the facility.
Officers responded to the scene and searched the area for the man but were unable to locate him.
Officer Revives Man After Bathroom Overdose
Just after 10 am, police responded to a report that a man had overdosed in the bathroom of a Harding Avenue business.
When police arrived on the scene, they found the man on the bathroom floor. The officer rubbed the man’s chest, and he opened his eyes, but he still seemed disoriented.
A medic administered a dose of Narcan, and the man’s condition improved. He refused further medical treatment.
