Dustin Tyler Pack, 28, of McDermott, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023, at SOMC. He was born July 7, 1994, in Columbus, the son of Nakia Dawn Toppins-Peters and James Walter Pack, who survive.
Dustin attended Star Workshop for one year and graduated from Vern Riffe School in 2016. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ. He enjoyed game shows and people watching, and there was always an iPad fully charged and cued up for him with Cinderella, his favorite, or another classic Disney movie. In 2009, Dustin received the gift of a lifetime when the Make-A-Wish Foundation sent him to Disney World.
Surviving is his mother and stepfather, Nakia Dawn Toppins-Peters and Jonathan Peters, with whom he made his home in McDermott; his father and stepmother, James Walter and Sarah Jane Pack of Portsmouth; two brothers, Brody Pack of Portsmouth and Christopher (Alyssa) Peters of Yelm, WA; three sisters, Kathryn (Shawn) Stevens of West Portsmouth, Alexandra (Brandon) Willis of Columbus and Ashli (Chris) McElroy of Byesville; maternal grandmother, Charlotte Toppins of Wheelersburg; aunts & uncles, John & Nancy Pack of Lexington, KY, Wendy & Barry Bernard of Hillsboro, Beth & Ron Bullock of Circleville, Dawn Peters of Indianapolis, IN, Carl & Leng Toppins of Hollis, ME, Chris & Joni Jones of Bradenton, FL and Craig Jones of Wheelersburg; nieces & nephews, Kealee Peters, Conrad Peters, Olivia Stevens, Rocky Stevens, Charlie Willis and Parker McElroy; and several cousins.
Dustin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Toppins; paternal grandparents, James Pack and Linda Pack; special grandparents, Elizabeth “Libby” Peters and Bob & Bonnie McKeag; and his uncle, Tom Peters.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Dennis Dawes, minister, officiating and interment in Rush Township Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 7 P.M. and Thursday from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
