It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Michael Holt, lovingly called Michael by his family, on October 12th at the age of 36. Born to Kimberly Ann Holt and Edward Martin Holt, Michael was the youngest sibling, sharing a close bond with his sisters, Stacey Amanda Holt, Sarah Elizabeth Holt, and Melissa Ann Holt, along with her husband, Travis Runnels.
Michael was also a loving uncle to his nephew, Landen Michael Cobb, who brought him immense joy. Cherished by his surviving grandparents, Elizabeth Ann Holt, Eddie Albert Varney, and Joyce Lou Varney, Michael was predeceased by his grandfather, John Henry Holt.
Growing up, Michael was surrounded by love, laughter, and a big extended family.
He shared countless memories with his father’s side of the family, including seven uncles, three aunts, and many cousins, among them Trey Holt and Carolyn Holt, whose presence is deeply missed. On his mother’s side, Michael cherished relationships with several of his second cousins, who were as close as siblings to him.
Michael had a gentle soul, evident in his love for animals, which earned him the title of the “dog whisperer” by those who knew him best. Animals seemed to understand Michael in a special way, always finding comfort in his presence. In his free time, Michael loved playing video games, enjoying frisbee golf, entertainment wrestling, and watching movies.
For over ten years, Michael worked at Air Authority as an HVAC technician, showing dedication and skill in a field he was proud of. His colleagues knew him not just for his expertise but for his warm and easygoing demeanor.
Michael will be remembered most for his kind spirit, his passion for the simple joys of life, and his unwavering love for family—both human and furry. He brought light wherever he went, whether it was sharing a laugh, giving great hugs, or just being a comforting presence.
