Elma Louise Rowland Stevenson, 90, of South Portsmouth, KY., passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, at Portsmouth Health & Rehab in Portsmouth, OH. She was born in Greenup, KY., August 7, 1934, a daughter of the late Kent and Mary Kouns Rowland.
She retired from Martings Department Store after 35 years. Elma loved the Lord, she taught Sunday school for many years, loved her church family, loved family reunions, and get-togethers.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stevenson, who passed away in 2021 after 69 years of marriage; one great-grandson, Brody McNutt; two brothers, Hank Rowland and Harold Rowland; three sisters, Flo Shaw, Olive Lewis, and Alley Covert.
Left behind to cherish her memory are two daughters, Denise (Gary) McElhaney and Annette (Mark) McNutt; four grandchildren, April (Bill) Jilbert, Ryan (Kristine) McElhaney, Ashley (Clay) Nickell and Alan (Cathy) McNutt; six great-grandchildren, Kylee, Colin Delonte’, Josiah, Brody, Freya, and Willow, along with several other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Friday, May 23, 2025, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Russ Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth, KY. Visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
