Events planned for Take Your Child to the Library Day
A variety of fun events for the whole family are being offered by the Portsmouth Public Library to celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, February 1.
The Bookmobile will be out and about, hosting storytimes at four locations. Stops are as follows:
- Rarden Post Office in Rarden from 10:30 am – 11:30 am
- Lett Terrace in West Portsmouth from 12:45 pm -1:45 pm.
- Shawnee Lodge and Conference Center in West Portsmouth from 2:15 pm – 3:15 pm.
- Earl Thomas Conley Park in West Portsmouth from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm.

The Lucasville branch will host a special Peppa the Pig storytime at 2 pm for kids 12 and under. In addition to stories, there will also be games. For more info please contact the Lucasville Library at 740- 259-6119.
The New Boston branch has scheduled a special program for kids 12 and under at 2 pm with a Groundhog’s Day theme. There will stories, games, and crafts. For more information, call 740-456-4412.
Starting at 2 pm, the Wheelersburg branch will host a special Create and Paint days. Kids are encouraged to wear old clothes and participate in painting a work of art on a mini canvas. They’ll be able to take the artwork home along with a mini easel for display. For more information call, 740- 574-6116
At the Main Library in Portsmouth, kids 12 and under will be able to decorate a journal with stickers and markers starting at 2 pm. For more information call 740-354-5562
