If you’re stashing drugs, guns, and piles of cash in your house, here’s a pro tip: pay your rent.
An attempt to serve a routine eviction notice in the 1100 block of Sunset Street turned into a massive drug bust on Thursday after court officers stumbled onto a stash that looked straight out of a crime drama.
According to officials, court officers knocked on the door expecting a simple eviction. What they found instead? A treasure trove of illegal drugs, multiple firearms, and a big pile of U.S. cash. The discovery was so shocking that they immediately called in the Southern Ohio Organized & Major Crimes Task Force.
Task Force agents rushed to the scene and conducted a full search of the property. The result? A haul that could stock a cartel starter kit.
Caught in the crossfire—literally and legally—was Corey Pullings, who was arrested at the scene on an outstanding warrant for drug trafficking.
Turns out, Pullings isn’t new to the system. He’s currently on parole for a grab bag of past crimes including failure to comply, trespassing, and having weapons under disability.
Now, he’s headed back to the Scioto County Jail, with the Scioto County Grand Jury expected to review the case for more charges tied to drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession.
Sheriff David Thoroughman didn’t mince words:
“This arrest and seizure represent the continued commitment of the Task Force to aggressively target those bringing drugs and violence into our communities.”
