Family Freaks Out After Long Wait For Ambulance
A worried family member vented their frustration with 911 dispatch after a long wait for an ambulance. At 6 pm, the call came in that a man had passed out, and dispatch requested an ambulance.
When no squads responded to the first request, dispatch issued a second alert and then eventually called EMT Ohio.
Twenty minutes after the first call, an upset family member called back and let dispatch have it over the lack of an ambulance. Dispatch explained that the ambulance would have to come all the way from Portsmouth as Union FD did not have a crew available.
At 6:25 pm, dispatch paged Rush FD to set up a landing zone for an air ambulance, and the air ambulance finally arrived at 6:46 pm.
