What started as a helping hand turned into a real-life house of horrors — and now a local family says they’re living in fear under their own roof.
🔍 Here’s the jaw-dropping breakdown:
- Back in March 2025, a Coal Grove woman agreed to let her adult daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend move into her home temporarily to get on their feet.
- But fast-forward to now — the couple refuses to leave, and things have taken a dark turn.
According to a terrified family of four who showed up at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the couple has allegedly been caught on home surveillance cameras plotting to kill the woman’s husband — and maybe her, too.
🎥 What the Videos Allegedly Show:
- The mother says she overheard her daughter and the boyfriend whispering about it being “time to strike.”
- She claims they discussed “putting tablets in a drink” — which the boyfriend said would “solve the issue” of the husband.
- The husband confirmed he heard his own daughter say she wanted him dead on video.
- Another family member added she overheard the couple say, “not on camera,” suggesting they knew they were being watched.
🚨 Deputies reviewed the footage and confirmed hearing:
- A female voice say, “I want him dead.”
- A separate clip where tablets and avoiding cameras were mentioned.
Much of the other audio was muffled, but the message was clear enough to send chills down everyone’s spine.
❗ What Happens Now?
Deputies are working to recover the full videos from the phone. While no charges have been filed yet, the threats and eerie behavior are under investigation.
💬 Sheriff’s Advice:
“If someone’s in your home threatening your safety, get out, get help, and document everything.”
Don’t let fear keep you from speaking up — even if it’s your own family.
