Just after 11 am, a farmer contacted 9-1-1 to report they shot a dog that was attacking their cattle on St. Rt. 522.
The caller said this was an ongoing issue with neighbors allowing their dogs to run loose.
Deputies told the farmer, they were within their rights to shoot the dog to protect their animals. The Dog Warden arrived to collect the dead animal and noted there were no tags to identify it.

Pit Bulls Fight Reported on Grandview Avenue
Portsmouth Police responded to 18th and Grandview after a caller reported three pit bulls fighting in the alley and an altercation between their owners.
Dispatch sent Animal Control to the scene and officers issued citations to the owners over the incident.
