FedEx Driver Threatened With Gun
The head of FedEx security asked the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to provide an escort around 1:30 pm. The security officer was headed to Dawson Drive to speak with a man who’d threatened a delivery driver with a gun.
A deputy accompanied the officer to the address, but nobody was home at the time. They agreed to try again later.
Thief Steals Purse From 3rd Street – Goes Shopping at Kroger and McDonald’s
A thief snatched a purse after breaking into a vehicle parked on 3rd Street overnight.
The crook took a purse and wallet. The wallet contained credit cards, a bank card, identification, Social Security Card, and cash.
The crook then went on a spending spree shelling out $70 at Kroger, $37.50 at Valero, $20 at McDonald’s, and $11.86 at Clark’s Pump n Shop.
Officers took information for a report.
Grand Theft Auto on Gallia Street
Just after 10:30 am, a man contacted Portsmouth Police to report someone had taken his 2003 Honda from the 1600 block of Gallia. Police took information for a report.
Another vehicle owner was reunited with a missing vehicle after the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office informed him it was spotted in a park on St. Route 104. After verifying ownership, the vehicle was released to the rightful owner.
Park Poopers Desecrate War Memorial
Officers called out to Tracy Park to investigate a report of homeless children and discovered someone had done some dirty deeds on the war memorial.
At 8:30 pm, a caller reported a homeless woman and two small children staying near the stage area – an area known to attract dozens of homeless individuals.
When officers checked the park, they couldn’t find the woman or the children. However, they made a nasty discovery on the war memorial.
According to the police log, there were two locations where some humans had defecated on the bricks.
