Gary Lee Dilley, 79, of McDermott, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, with his family by his side. He was born June 18, 1941 in Chillicothe, a son of the late Navada Mamie McGlone Streby and Clarence William Dilley.
Gary most recently worked at Glockner Honda/Toyota as a new car salesman and he was a member of The Rock Church. He received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1964 and he was a 1959 Chillicothe High School graduate. Gary had worked at Square D in Northern Ohio, Koontz-Wagner in South Bend, IN and he retired from Shambaugh & Son in the Cuyahoga Falls area. An avid reader, Gary was a former Little League coach and pick-up basketball player. However, these days he mainly enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their many activities.
Surviving is his wife, Laura Jane Pratt Dilley, whom he married April 28, 2008 in Gatlinburg, TN; three sons, Jeff (Stacey) Dilley of Orlando, FL, Tom (Anjanette) Dilley of Indianapolis, IN and Mike (Priscila) Dilley of Ft. Worth, TX; two bonus sons, Jeremy (Amy) Whitt and Matt (Anna) Whitt; grandchildren, Keith, Carlyn, Sarah, Hannah, Ryder and Valentina Dilley, and Jack, Mark, Abi and Steven Whitt; one brother, James Pitts; and his special dog, Snuggles.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rick Clark, Minister, officiating, and interment in Scioto Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 7 P.M. and one hour prior to services Saturday.
