Gladys Belcher Fritz, age 77, of Wheelersburg, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the SOMC Hospice Center. She was born on May 17, 1948, to the late Edward and Hannah Altman Belcher.
Gladys dedicated many years of her life to the culinary arts, working as a cook at the former Albrecht’s Restaurant and holding the distinguished title of the longest-serving cook at Bob Evans in New Boston. Her contributions to the community through her cooking were cherished by many.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Fritz, as well as three brothers: Bill, Estel, and Jim Belcher, and three sisters: Edna Secrist, Gertrude Leadingham, and Zelma Morrison.
Gladys is survived by her brother-in-law, Thomas Secrist; five nephews, John (Ruth) Secrist, Joseph Secrist, Jimmy Belcher, Timmy Belcher, and Larry Belcher; three nieces, Mary Ellen Mouzon, Betty Ann Clifford, and Cathy Eveland; along with several great-nieces and nephews and a close friend, Randal Craig.
A service honoring Gladys will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Randy Bratka officiating. The family will welcome guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on the same day.
