The closing date for Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland has been moved up to April 30. When the closing was announced in January, the hospital’s parent company, Bon Secours, stated service would end sometime in September.
In a statement, the company said they would no longer offer hospital-based patient care or emergency services after April 30. The company said EMS services would be notified that patients would not be accepted. Greenup County E911 has already stated that they’ve consulted with fire departments and King’s Daughters Hospital about the changes to emergency services. Earlier in the week, we told you that employees of OLBH had expressed frustration at the lack of information about a closing date for the hospital.
Bon Secours said the medical records department at the hospital would remain open beyond the 30th but did not say how long.
They also listed the following service end dates for other departments:
Occupational Medicine – February 14
Outpatient Electromyography (EMG) testing – February 19
Cornerstone Medical Plaza’s Imaging and Lab services – February 21 (Primary care services at Cornerstone remain open at this time.)
