Grace Rose Cassidy, 83, of McDermott, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on February 17, 1937 in Lucasville, Ohio to the late Esto Crabtree and Rosa McClary Crabtree. On September 25, 1956 she was united in marriage to Ivan Donald Cassidy who preceded her in death on September 21, 2008 after 51 years of marriage.
Surviving are five sons; Tony (Debbie) Cassidy of Jamestown, Keith Cassidy of McDermott, Joe (Janine) Cassidy of West Portsmouth, Randy (Regina) Cassidy of Lucasville and Mike (Lisa) Cassidy of Lucasville; two daughters, Penny (Steve) Williams of Otway and Shelly (Ryan Rachford) Ealey of McDermott; 22 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren patiently awaiting 2 more great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister Betty Chambliss of Otway and brother Rodney Crabtree of Lucasville.
In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was preceded in death by brothers; Paul Crabtree, Curt Crabtree, Clarence Crabtree, Jim Crabtree and Infant Boy Crabtree; sisters Lillian Altman and Ginny Crabtree.
Grace was a surgical nurse at Southern Ohio Medical Center where she retired after 30 years of proudly helping others. She was a member of Big Run Community Church. Grace loved God, her children, her grandchildren and going to church. In her spare time she enjoyed cheering for her two favorite teams, the Cincinnati Reds and Kentucky Wildcats Basketball.
Funeral Services will be Friday, August 28, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at McCollough Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at McCollough Baptist Church and one hour before the service . Arrangements are under the direction of Botkin Hornback Funeral Home.
