EMS and Officers responded to Richard Road (near Stockdale) after a report that a man had been mowed down by a vehicle driven by his granddaughter. Medics said it appeared the man’s legs were injured.
When officers arrived at the scene, they learned that the granddaughter was in the vehicle with her boyfriend, and the grandfather had been hit by the vehicle when he tried to stop them from leaving the scene. Medics transported the grandfather to the hospital for treatment.
Officers headed to the home of one of the kids in the vehicle, and his mother told deputies where they could find them. Officers Mirandized a suspect and contacted CPS about the underage girl. CPS said to allow the girl to stay with a friend until they were able to follow up.
