An attempted grocery-store getaway didn’t make it very far after police tracked down a woman accused of shoplifting from Save A Lot on Gallia Street.
Officers were called to the store after a report of a female shoplifter described as wearing a black jacket, tie-dye pants, dirty-blonde hair, and carrying a brown bag—with grape jelly among the items taken. The suspect reportedly left on foot toward Speedway.
Police quickly caught up with the woman in the 1200 block of Young Street, then escorted her back to the grocery store to return the stolen items.
