1. Gun Threats Made After Man Melts Down
Just after 4 pm, officers were called to 20th Street for a report of a man having a mental health crisis. The caller said the man threatened him and his father with a gun, though they did not see any weapons.
Officers took information for a report.
Half an hour later, a Mound Street caller said the same man was at a Mound Street address armed with a weapon.
Police spoke to a woman on the phone who said she was the homeowner, and it was a family argument.
Officers headed to the scene and heard arguing inside the home. However, the arguing stopped once an officer knocked. No one came to the door.
Police decided there were no exigent circumstances to force entry into the home.
2. Officers Investigate Report of Starving Horse in McDermott
Officers responded to McDermott to investigate a report of a starving horse with ribs and bones sticking out.
When police arrived at the home, the homeowner said he believed the report was in regard to one of his father’s horses. The dad showed up while the officers were there with feed for his animals for the evening.
He explained the horse in question was over 30 years old. Officers noted there was food and water available for the other horses on the property, and they seemed healthy. They suggested the owner have a vet check on the elderly horse.
