West Portsmouth resident Marcus Miller looks pretty darn surprised in his mugshot. But, considering what the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office said they found at his home, he really shouldn’t be too shocked that the Southern Ohio Drug Taskforce showed up at his door at 8 am on Thursday morning. Given the hour, it’s possible they woke him up. Here’s what law enforcement said went down.
The Bust
Around 8 am on June 18, the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force and Portsmouth Police Department SWAT team showed up at a home on Slab Run Road in West Portsmouth. They executed a narcotics-related search warrant at the home of Marcus Miller, 45, and Deborah Trowbridge, 52. Here’s Ms. Trowbridge’s mugshot.
What They Found
Officers searched the residence and surrounding property. Here’s what they found:
- 69 grams of suspected crack cocaine
- 21 grams of suspected heroin
- 71 suspected Oxycodone 5mg pills
- 567 grams of an unidentified crystalline substance
Police say the drugs are worth close to $10,000.
In addition to the suspected drugs, the search uncovered:
- Three handguns
- Digital scales
- $7,193 cash
The Charges
Miller and Trowbridge were arrested and charged with trafficking and possession of drugs. Both charges are felonies.
Additionally, Miller was charged with having weapons while under a disability. That’s also a felony. There was already a warrant out for his arrest on an indictment from a previous case.
Arraignment Portsmouth Municipal Court sometime Friday. After that, the case will be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury for the consideration of additional felony charges.
Sheriff Marty Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Debbie Brewer thanked the tactical medics from the Portsmouth Fire Department for their assistance.
