Half-Naked Child Found Wandering on 5th Street – CPS Investigates
Just after 7 am, officers received a report of a small child wearing only underwear or a diaper wandering on 5th Street.
Officers located the little boy 5 minutes later and put him in the safety of a cruiser before contacting CPS. A CPS worker arrived within 5 minutes and began searching for the child’s family.
At 8:44 am, a 5th Street woman called to report her child missing, and the boy’s father also called 911 just a moment later.
Officers returned the child to his mother and took information for a report.
Starving Dog Reported on Stockham Road
Just after 7 pm, deputies responded to a report that a starving pit bull was chained to a trailer with no food or water.
Deputies said the animal had adequate shelter, food, and water but appeared malnourished, with ribs sticking out and ticks around its eyes.
The deputy contacted the dog warden and the humane agent. While the deputy was investigating, the owner came home and explained that the dog was 11 years old and had been struggling with health issues and not wanting to eat. He said the family planned to take the dog to the vet in the next few days.
The deputy said local agencies would follow up to make sure the animal was cared for.
Police Respond To Sidewalk Sleeper Calls
Just after 6:30 am, officers were called to the Hurth Apartments for a report of a suspicious man sleeping in the lobby.
When police spoke to him, he explained he was homeless and had fallen asleep in the lobby. Officers advised him to leave and not come back.
At 3:30 pm, a witness reported a man urinating in the bushes at Tracy Park. They said the man was now lying on the stage.
Offices took a man into custody.
