Helen Rosalie Cyrus, 88, of Portsmouth, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021, at her home. She was born March 8, 1933, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Arnold and Mary Belle Monk Luther, Sr.
Helen was a very special lady who was loved by all who knew her. A homemaker, she always made people feel welcome when they visited.
She was preceded in death in 1975 by her husband, Charles Arthur Wesley, Sr., and by husband, Howard Leroy Cyrus on December 20, 2008. She and Leroy were married in West Portsmouth on May 26, 1979.
Surviving are two sons, Mark Anthony (Cathy) Wesley of Jacksonville, FL and Dale Raymond (Kim) Wesley of Portsmouth; three siblings, Richard Luther of Roseville, MI, Billy Ray Luther of Greenup, KY, and Phyllis Mae Harrison of Brimfield; a special niece, Debra Cline; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three sons, Roger Lee Buckler, John Irwin Buckler, and Charles Arthur Wesley; and five siblings, Arnold Luther, Jr., David Ralph Luther, Albert Elmer Luther, Philip Elza Luther, Miriam Jean Austin, and Frances Louise Scott.
Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Dennis Dawes, Minister, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the service hour. Masks will be required at all times.
