Henry L. Madden. 93 of South Portsmouth, Kentucky passed away, April 18, 2023 at his residence. He was born In New Boston, Ohio, March 27, 1930, a son of the late Joe Madden and Vina Wright Madden. Henry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Preceded in death besides his parents are his wife of 71 years, Delores Madden, one son, Donald Marvin Madden, two brothers, Andrew and Elwood Madden, sisters, Margia Madden, Belva Felty, Martha Jane Layher and Patty Rhoden.
Surviving are his children, Deborah Davis of Quincy, Kentucky, Donna Stewart of South Webster, Ohio, Dianne (Travis) Lockhart of Sciotoville, Ohio, Doug (Ruth) Madden of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, Dan (Lisa) Madden of Portsmouth, Ohio, Dennis (Beth) Madden of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Marty (Flo) Madden of South Webster, Ohio and Eddie (Belkys) Madden of Lucasville, Ohio, sisters, Christine Erwin, Margaret Rhoden, Berta Madden and Marcella Rhoden all of Garrison, Kentucky, eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Family would like to give a special thanks to Hannah Boggs and Tanya Wright for the great care that was given.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Pastor Nathaniel Rowland, officiating. Burial will follow in the Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth, Kentucky. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. till the service hour at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Military services will be by the American Legion Post 93, Kenova, West Virginia.
Family ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Community Hospice in Ashland, Kentucky.
