A wild police chase through Portsmouth took a dangerous turn when a New Boston officer crashed while pursuing a speeding truck—and the suspect vanished into the night!
The Chase Begins: The drama unfolded when police spotted a white truck flying through a residential area near 17th and Thomas at 70 mph. Instead of stopping, the driver hit the gas, racing north toward Southern Ohio Medical Center.
Cop Wrecks Out! As the pursuit raged on, a New Boston officer lost control and crashed near Rosemount Hill, according to the officer.
Where’s the Officer? Portsmouth Police rushed in to assist, but they couldn’t locate the wrecked cruiser at first. After a frantic search, they finally found it clear back down on top of Pleasant Hill.
Emergency Response: EMS was called, but in the end, fellow officers transported the injured cop to the hospital for treatment.
The Suspect? Long Gone!
While the officer was recovering, the white truck disappeared into the night. Despite a widespread search, the reckless driver remains on the loose.
