The string of break-ins plaguing residents continues. Just before 11 a.m., a Grandview Avenue caller reported someone had broken into her parents’ garage overnight.
She wasn’t sure what was missing as she hadn’t had time to speak with her father, as he was at the doctor’s office.
Later that day at 5:30 pm, a neighbor spotted a man breaking into a house in the 1600 block of High Street. Officers arrested a man with an open warrant from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.
However, the jail refused to book him due to some issues with his leg. The man agreed to go to the hospital for treatment.
At 8:30 p.m., a caller reported someone stole his motorcycle from the corner of Mound and Grant Streets. Officers took information for a report.
Thieves Bust Into Homes, Steal Car
Thieves were out again in force over the weekend, keeping officers busy. Just before 3:30 p.m., on Friday, a Thomas Avenue resident reported someone broke into their apartment and took multiple items. Officers took information for a report.
Three hours later, a 2nd Street caller told police someone stole their car. Officers took information for a report.
A Bihlman Drive neighbor reported that thieves broke into his car and went through the vehicle overnight. However, he didn’t think they made off with anything.
A Vinton Avenue caller contacted officers to report someone took their phone from their home. Police took information for a report.
Around 2:45 a.m., officers were called back to Bihlman Drive for a report of someone going through vehicles. However, officers did not find anything suspicious.
A 3rd Street caller reported a bicycle stolen around 9 a.m. However, the man was unable to provide the bike’s model or serial number. He had a suspect in mind and was very upset that officers would not go arrest the man.
