A witness contacted 911 to report seeing a disturbing event take place just before 1 p.m. on the ramp of 52 and Center Street in Wheelersburg.
According to the witness, a homeless man was standing beside the road. Someone got out of another vehicle and assaulted the homeless person.
The witness told police that they witnessed the assailant tackle the victim to the ground.

2 Deputies responded to the scene. However, the caller didn’t stick around to provide more information on the suspect vehicle. In addition, the reported victim was not there. Deputies searched the area for nearly 20 minutes and could not locate a victim who needed their help.
