Howard “Butch” Wiget, 73, of Rosemount, passed away October 25, 2021, at SOMC Hospice. He was born April 20, 1948, to the late Howard and Marguerite Means Wiget.
Before retiring, Butch was an electrician for the Dayton Walter Steel Corporation and was part of the steelworkers union. He was also a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved to laugh and be with his family most of all. Attending sports, dance, and music events of his grandchildren were some of his favorite things to do. But he also loved relaxing by the beach listening to smooth jazz or doing anything to spend time with his soulmate, Cindy.
Butch is survived by his wife, Cindy Caudill-Wiget; 3 sons, Jeff Wiget, Benji (Laura) Wiget, Ryan Paul Hurst; a daughter, Sami Jo (Doug) Ledingham; a sister, Janet (Andy) Roberts; several grandchildren, Justin Wiget, Nathaniel Prater, Aaron (Holly) Prater, Julia Wiget, Jacob Prater, Tiffany Samples, Angel Wiget, Ty Wiget, Dakota Dodds, Zoe Wiget, Taylor (Lilly) Hurst, Kaylynn (Benjamin) Daniels, and Haylie Hurst; 9 great-grandchildren; a niece, Cheryl (Andy) Burns; a great-nephew, Andy Burns, and many others that will miss him deeply.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 29, 2021, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Benjamin Daniels officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.
