Jacqueline Marie Nolan-Hensley, 79, of Portsmouth, died Monday, July 7, 2025 at SOMC Hospice. She was born March 28, 1946 in Portsmouth, to the late Jack and Marie (Cartee) Porter. Jacqueline loved to play the piano ever since she learned how when she was young. She started playing for her first church when she was only 13 years old. She went on to play for over 5 different churches in Scioto County. She was also a teacher for Portsmouth City Schools for over 33 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Emanuel “Buck” Porter and JoRetta Hughes, and a granddaughter, Maci Leighann Nolan.
Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 29 years, John Hensley, two sons, Dr. Matthew Nolan of Portsmouth and John David Nolan of Cincinnati, and two grandchildren, John Luke Nolan and Jonnie Marie Nolan.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, July 11, 2025 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Orman Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. A visitation for friends and relatives will be on Friday at the funeral home, starting at 11:00 AM, until the time of service. Music will be provided by Brenda Cobb.
