Janie M Newton, 82, of Waverly, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at her home.
She was born on February 11, 1943 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to the late Clarence Harvey Clovis and Edna Ellen Roach Clovis.
Surviving are her children; Mike (Cheryl) Newton of Chillicothe, Kelly Newton of Waverly and Phil Newton of Waverly; grandchildren, Zach Newton (Cassandra) and Rachel Rider (Jason Ingham); great grandchildren, Colt Newton, Layne and Linkin Rider, Jalyn and Jolie Ingham, Timmy Nelson and McKenzie Cox; nieces, Lisa Wells and Melissa Howard; great nephews, Jordan Wells and Kyle Wells and great niece, Lauren Wells.
In addition to her parents, Janie is preceded in death by her grandson; Michael Quinton Newton and her sisters; Linda Barker and Beverly Howard. Janie dedicated 53 years of service as a committed and hard-working employee of Kegley’s and Fruth Pharmacy.
Above all, Janie loved her family deeply and cherished time spent with her great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching football, a pastime that brought her joy and comfort.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home in Waverly.
