Jason Bryan Bishop, 47, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, January 19, 2025 at SOMC. He was born September 21, 1977 in Portsmouth, to the late James S. Bishop and Betty Jo (Cummings) Coldiron.
Jason or “Fish” or “Catfish” to many to name, enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, and his obvious passion for fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kerri Ann Coldiron amd his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Lillie Cummings.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Bates of Portsmouth, his children, Jennica Bishop, Jason Bishop II, Ashley Bates, Chris Bates, and Billy Boggs, all of Portsmouth, his grandchildren, Whitney, Morgan, LaNora, Matthew, Jazlyn, Kaylee, Jordan, Thea, Chloe, Alexis and Brianna, a brother, Tim Coldiron (Angela) of Wheelersburg, four sisters, Dana, Anita, Valerie, and Tanya, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be 5:00 PM Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. A visitation for friends and relatives will be on Sunday from 3:00 PM until start of service at 5:00 PM
