Joanne Pierce, 82, of Portsmouth, passed away April 25, 2023, at her home. She was born May 16, 1940 in New Boston to the late Orville and Easter (Penix) Lintz. Joanne was a talker and enjoyed scrolling through Facebook, doing word search puzzles, watching birds and watching westerns on television.
Joanne is survived by two sons, James F. Pierce Jr. and wife Teresa of New Boston and Jeffrey D. Pierce and wife Debra of Portsmouth; a daughter, Mindy F. Ross and husband Shane of Portsmouth; four sisters, Anna Mae Jordan of Stockdale, Brenda Southworth of Lucasville, Pamela Ison of Minford and Teresa Porter of Florida; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Pierce Sr.; a daughter, Easter Carlena Pierce; a brother, Floyd Lintz; and twelve infant brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday April 28, 2023, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Brent Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at Stockdale Cemetery.
