John Clinton Brown, 70, passed away on August 31, 2025. He was born on October 31, 1954, to the late Harry Brown and Wilma (McKinney) Brown. John graduated from Minford High School in 1972. Shortly after, he began a dedicated 42-year career at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant, retiring with a reputation for dependability and integrity. Colleagues remembered him as a steady, reliable person who always did what was needed with honesty and dedication.
John was a father and proud “Papaw”. He is survived by his children, Aubrey (Paul) Schwamberger and Dustin Brown, both of Lucasville, and by his grandchildren, Dylan Brown and Savannah Brown; by his friend and the mother of his children, Tammy Ferguson of Lucasville. John is also survived by his five sisters, Pat (Tom) Miller of West Jefferson, Ohio, Carolyn Leist of Beaver, Ohio, Rosie Cox of Minford, Ohio, Susie (Brian) Neal of West Worthington, Ohio, and Angie (Alan) Roberts of Beaver, Ohio, and also remembered by many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss his easy kindness and good sense of humor. His faithful dog, Jack was his constant companion and was never far from his side.
Those who knew John will remember his quiet strength, strong work ethic, and straightforward way of caring for others. His legacy endures in his family and the example he set of showing up working hard and keep his word.
Funeral services will be conducted at Noon Friday, September 5, 2025 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Chris Oiler officiating.
