John M. Cordle, 85, of Rosemount, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at SOMC Hospice. He was born June 14, 1937, to the late Selca and Susie Cordle. He retired from the United States Enrichment Corporation, was a member and deacon of Candy Run United Baptist Church, and a member of Lucasville Masonic Lodge and Lucasville Chapter of Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen, on August 2, 1990; a daughter, Debra Lea Butler; a granddaughter, Faith Kathleen; seven brothers, Paul, Norman, Dewey, Selca, Jr., Jack, Lacie and Floyd, and one sister, Minerva.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Reeder Chandler, whom he married on September 26, 1992; a son, Johnny A. (Cathy); two granddaughters, Christie Adkins and Jessemily Egerton (Justin); three grandsons, Wesley Butler, Josh and Jeremy Cordle; two daughters, Diane Thompson, Brenda (Arnold) King; five grandchildren, David, Leigha, Andrea, Chandler, Cameron; sixteen great grandchildren; one brother, William, and three sisters, Janet Comer, Linda James and Mary Reffitt.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Arvil C. Murray, Jr. and John W. Daniels officiating. Burial will be at South Webster Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
